Panel: Working with Allies to Bring Asian American History to Schools
4:00pm PTVirtual- Zoom
How can we work with more allies to bring Asian American history into schools and to see long-term changes in education?
As part of a continuing series Beyond Far East Deep South, join us for an informative panel of education experts who will share insights into how they are introducing more Asian American history in schools, how to navigate working with different allies and how everyone can better advocate for lasting change in education. We’ll also discuss what different states are doing to implement more AAPI curriculum.
Our panelists include AMIT KOBROWSKI (Oregon Department of Education, Social Science Specialist), KATE LEE (Program Manager, Asian American Education Project), and KEISHA REMBERT(Assistant Professor of Teacher Preparation at National Louis University). Panel will be moderated by Larissa Lam and Baldwin Chiu, producers of Far East Deep South. Presented by Chinese Americans Citizens Alliance and Far East Deep South.
